Appalachian Mountains
This mountain range is huge! Reaching from Northwest Georgia to a little bit past the border of Canada. This range's mountains reach a peak of 6,684 ft in the air. That's almost a third of how high planes fly! This mountain range is 1,500 miles long. To get that far, it would take almost an entire 24 hours with no stops or changes of speed at 70 miles per hour, and no bends or rises in the road. This mountain is home to thousands if not tens or hundreds of thousands of species of flora and fauna.
The importance of the Appalachian Mountains is that major rivers such as the Savannah and Chattahoochee begin here. They are also important for mining.

Barrier Islands
The Barrier Islands are beautiful, scenic islands that many people in Georgia, and even other states and countries, visit often. These islands, though beautiful, also serve the purpose of breaking down waves, so we don't get the harsher ones, and often, hurricanes and tornadoes are driven away or made weaker when moving through them before coming into the Georgia State area. These islands are made up of 20-50 small islands just off the coast of Southeast Georgia.
